Viva Engage keeps growing as a space for community engagement and knowledge sharing inside Microsoft 365. From June onwards, it’s got a bunch of updates that work very well with Copilot.
Viva Engage Content in Copilot Responses
From June to August 2025, Microsoft 365 Copilot will start using Viva Engage discussion posts from public communities and Storylines as part of its responses. Copilot can pull relevant discussions from Viva Engage public communities into your chat, giving you richer answers based on what’s being shared across your organisation’s communities, without including any private or restricted posts.
What you can do now:
- Check your Viva Engage settings to make sure public content is accurate and well-managed.
- Let community managers know public posts can now show up in Copilot responses.
Expanded Copilot in Viva Engage
From the end of July 2025, Viva Engage will get an updated Copilot experience for licensed users. It will include:
- Community Catch-Up – A quick view of what you’ve missed.
- Information Discovery – Find relevant discussions, posts, and resources faster.
- Recall – Locate past conversations and content without endless scrolling.
The rollout will finish by the end of August 2025 and will only be available for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Preparation tips:
- Make sure Copilot licenses cover the people who will benefit most.
- Give employees a quick overview so they can use the features right away.
What This Means for Your Organisation
These updates make Viva Engage more than a place to post updates. By feeding public community knowledge directly into Copilot, employees can find and reuse information quickly. The updated Copilot in Viva Engage helps them stay on top of community news and find what they need without losing time.
In short, Viva Engage is becoming a smarter hub for organisational knowledge sharing.
